R171 my center glove box will not close, it worked fine until today. Does anyone know how to remove the box or at least the lid so I can try to figure it out? On the back part , when you open the lid sideways, there are two spring loaded arms. The one on the passenger's side is sticking out past the extremity of the lid and will not allow it to close, the one on the driver's side looks to be part of the hinge mechanism. Any ideas? I tried the search on this forum and on google but had no luck.

so i and others have had this issue. you need to bend that spring so it is like the other side and then position it where it goes and whack the whole thing back into position. This issue usually does not affect slk 55s so hopefully it is just someone lifting up too hard.
