Does anyone on the forum know of a reputable independent M-B shop in CT?

I just got an estimate to R&R all four rotor and pad sets on my ‘05 SLK55 AMG from a well-regarded local shop about 10 miles from here. Is this what it costs to get this job done most other places (CT always ranks first or second in Forbes’ “most expensive state in which to live,” and the sales tax is a large part of the “expensive”).

If this is the way it is, I have to make a decision between selling the car and taking another huge bath, or doing the brakes and taking a different huge bath.

Thanks in advice for any help. I bought this car under unusual circumstances (actually, the usual bone-headed circumstances I all too often find myself in).

The estimate:

1. Remove & Replace Brake Pads
$1674.00
