Hi, I'm Kevin in Orange County California. On Friday the 30th of December 2016, in a pouring unusual California rain, I purchased a 2005 SLK350 with 65,000 miles on it. I purchased this for my daughter to take to college and have had a hard time letting her drive it. I've had a blast driving it for the past three days. I may have to get one for myself.

Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Hi Kevin, welcome from Wirral, England.

You heard of 'the coat hanger effect'?
You have one hanger in the cupboard.
Close it.
Next time you look there are two.
Try that and maybe you'll have your own SLK too.
Worked for our house.

California has regionals for meets, local info and such:

W E L C O M E from L O N G I S L A N D!

Kevin, I know the feeling...my daughter cannot wait to get behind the wheel of my SLK. Thankfully, when I had my 07 SLK55 she was too young, and at that time her Mario Kart skills surpassed mine - very dangerous. Now, I have a '10 350 and she's a legal driver, fast one at that-thanks Mario, I am very reluctant to give her the keys. I will, just don't know when.

Just do it Kevin! Get one for yourself. :bike: :bike:
