I bought a 1998 SLK230 - 2nd MB for the family, wife has a '08 C300 Sport
The C300 was so much fun to drive, when I needed something a little more economical to drive, another MB seemed like a good choice.

This car has some issues, I've been working through them, but so far can't make it turn over at all.

Gonna do some searching here - maybe find an answer.

Thanks
Mike

Another new guy with a Drowned SLK230

Bad starter was the culprit here
Now on to the rest of the issues - car was partially drowned, so finding water in every connector etc.
Found water in the #3 cylinder - luckily never tried to start before finding all that - dried it out, little oil, turned over with plugs out, then with plugs in with no ignition connections - blew out some more water stored up.
Finally got to start it - cranked up and ran.
A $200 trip to the local MB dealer for some trans fluid, and another $150 at the local parts store for oil and filters and soon I'll be driving this car.
Have some top switch issues - got it to go down and up once, so I know the hydraulics are good - just some crazy switch causing issues now.
Then the PSE has to be replaced - was full of water and the capacitor fell off when I inspected it, though the vacuum pump was still good, board has too many issues after inspection - not worth trying to fix.
Lots of helpful posts here - got me headed in the right direction!
