Sounds like a problem with your PSE pump , getting damp/wet , do a search , there should be plenty of info !
I think you'll find if you pull the fuse you'll stop other stuff , try disconnecting just the siren until you get it sorted ?
I also remember some comments on the siren having a seperate battery , try s search on that just in case ??

With tongue firmly planted in cheek--"It sounds like you picked up some goblins on Halloween". Perhaps an exorcism is in order?:hb:

I'm having the same issue too. But I don't think it's the PSE in mine. I've always had a problem with the alarm randomly going off. Sometimes it only happens once, sometimes it will happen every 10 minutes from 1am until 4am...

I'm pretty sure it's not the PSE in mine because I had to have that replaced after Sandy; water got all up into the rear bumper, exhaust, and trunk, but the slope of my driveway kept it JUST out of the engine bay and is the only thing that saved it from being totaled out. And when I brought it in for repairs after all the repainting that had to be done they said that was the only part that needed replacing.

I had the problem before that though, and honestly it's only happened once since the hurricane; yesterday in fact. But I think that's because I leave the car unlocked at all times when home. I did start locking it again recently to get me back in the habit because I'm going to put in a new headunit so I can get some bluetooth audio.

So if it's not PSE what else might it be? My mechanic said it's not worth having him tear through it unless I want to spend a couple grand on finding the problem on a car that's only worth a couple grand...

I have a 2001 SLK230. Thanks to this forum I was able to solve mystery malfunctions. Found the PSE, open and indeed had very light corrosion on both sides. With a toothbrush I gently brushed it away. Dust spray any reside. Used CRC contact cleaner to finish cleaning and then CRC Lubricant that I bought at Home Depot. Now all is working fine: Locks don't engage and disengage without reason, dome light is working now at it should when you open the door or when you turn the alarm off. Trunk light works now. Door lock control in center console works. Alarm does not go off for no reason anymore. THANKS SLK FORUM!!!! you have a lot of knowledge here!!!
