Hello All!

In my 98 SLK, I'm having issues with the Mode control knob where my air comes out of the vents when I kick on the system. The selector knob moves and I can switch it to floor, or defrost etc, but the position of where the air blows doesn't change. Could this be a knob problem? I've often wondered if it's a vacuum problem because my Hazards don't work and I cannot unlock or lock the doors from the switch on the inside, however my key fob locks and unlocks the doors without any problems. ???

I haven't checked the PSE yet...

Thanks for your help!

It sounds to me like it is the climate control unit. The fact that the fob works means the signal is still getting to the pse. I'm not sure if any corrosion on the pse would prevent the cabin changes [it couldn't hurt to look at it though].

I'm not the technical one here! others will chime in soon im sure.
