When I put my car into storage this winter I pulled my battery out (as I always do) and noted that it was manufactured in 2002.

My car is a 2005, and I assume this is the original battery. I think it is well overdue for a replacement considering I just did my alternator before it went away for the winter.

Has anyone here replaced a lead acid battery with an AGM one? If so, have you had any issues?

Did a quick search for AGM and I did not find much in the matter of people fitting it to cars that had lead-cell batteries before.

*EDIT*: Never mind, reading the link you just posted!
