We are now a two SLK 55 household. I picked up an '09 with 50K on the clock today. The 200 mile drive home was fantastic. I'm a proud papa of course. I will call this one Jolene. :) Overall in great condition, just a few things to fix:
1) The headlights have a little bit of cancer on them. I'm deciding whether or not to buff them out or put on a smoked cover over them
2) The middle part of the grill has a nasty gouge on the black plastic wrap. I'm not sure of the best way to fix it, replace the grill or wrap with something. Suggestions welcomed.
3) The driver seats needs a little work on the leather. I might just re-dye it. Once again, suggestions welcomed!

I think I will certainly start with the LED license plate lights. As far as the clear side makers, easy to get and replace? eBay?

NOTE: On some vehicles (V8SLK and jbanks experience), there may be a second screw located at the front end of the sidemarker. Hopefully this is rare as it will be a lot more difficult to try to remove that front screw. One can try to feel with fingertips to see if there's a front screw or not, or use a strong light source as it is partially hidden and blocked by a metal plate. See photo below:
