I have a 2002 SLK 32 I recently had the ABS BAE/ESP light illuminate on my dashboard. My friend helped me by running an diagnostic test on it the only thing that came up was that it was the SPEED SENSOR.

Our the front speed sensors located on the brake caliper? Does anyone have a picture?

Where is the rear speed sensors located? Is on the differential? Also any pictures?

Any assistance would greatly help me. I have a limited budget over here in Naples Italy. I know the parts at the dealer out here are crazy prices in Euro s

Thank you in advance

Hi alandeena
I had same problem last year, on my 230 '98. I tried out the ABS sensors and they were ok, turned out to be the ABS pump high pressure return vale. Only found out by getting a diagnostic from Merc, and they quoted me £1500...but, matched the serial numbers on ABS pump, ordered same from breakers on e-bay and local garage did the busienss for me, total cost, £120. It's not all doom and gloom. I did try all the other potential faults as mentioned on here first, but thats how it rolled out. Get a diagnostic, mate. then you can
