Hi Everyone,

First time poster here but have used this site for years now for brilliant insight and how to's. Now I'm stumped and have searched high and low for the answer and cant seem to find out whats going on. Heres a breakdown:

About a month ago I was driving on the highway, cruise going, and all of the sudden it was like someone tapped the break pedal to turn off the cruise. I would get the bas/asr light on before all the lights came on and it shut off. I couldn't accelerate or anything else, but was lucky enough to move the car off to the side of the road. After the car sat idle for a minute or so, it started back up no problem and ran fine. It did this randomly I'd say once or twice a trip (I drive 45 mins to work) for a few days before I got it to my mechanic. Took it in, and he fixed my k7 module for he said there were blown components in there. Few days go by and bam, it happens again, same thing. Take it back to my friend who installs a new brake light switch for I saw on here that that can be the culprit. Had it for about a week or so and it happens again (this time randomly with the cruise on it was like someone would pump the brakes, but that was it. The cruise would go off but the car wouldn't shut down or anything as I was able to accelerate and continue).

It finally shut off on the highway again last night on the way home and now I'm stuck here clueless as to what my next step is. If anyone can help with anything, I'd really appreciate it.

Churro, thank you for the welcome. I put new tires on here about 6 months ago. Same size as the stock tires.

Jayson thanks for the post as well. That was actually one of the first threads I read on here a few weeks ago when it first happened. Unfortunately I'm still having such an issue. Hahah.

Thanks again guys for the support and help. Ill be swinging by my mechanic in the morning and will update as soon as I can.

Hi
Just a quick thought have you checked the fluid level in the transmission it may be low and when you are stoped for a while the fluid cools and drains and the car drives again.
