Hi.
I need a voltage regulator for my 1998 SLK230. The alternator is fine but puts out 20volts! So I want to replace the regulator.
Mercedes part number is: 0031540606 and
Bosch # 1197311533 14volt.
Tried for hours on line and can't find a vendor for this number. The Mercedes dealer in town wants $249 just for the regulator?!?!!?!? I was thinking more like $30.
If anyone has a link to a supplier please let me know.
Thanks! Joel

ps. think i just found one. will let you know for sure when it arrive this week :) it was $30 plus $8 shipping. Any one else needing one let me know.

regulator found

In reply to "lushansilva"
I found a replacement regulator for the Bosch # 1197311533 at Quick Start. It is not a Bosch but a direct replacement that fit perfect and works great! It is made by Transpo and the item number is IB387 on the box and IB3871 on my invoice. The cost was $29.95 and $7.95 shipping.
You can find the website for National Quick Start at www.alternatorparts.com
It has worked out for me for over a year now with no problems. :burnout:
Hope you can solve your problem.
