So i recently aqquired a slk230 while here in Germany and my dumb behind somehow lost my keys to the car. Is there any way i can buy a used oem key and reprogram it to the curret immobilizer or is my best bet going to mercedes and having them get a new key and programm it.

The problem is they are NLA, and prices are high, but you can speak with the dealer for non CL key, that will unlock all and will start the car. All VIN coded. If you get No Way from dealer, then everything else.

It's called a Valet Key :p That's good thinking though, IIRC someone on here bought a couple for their motor not so long back (y)

Good call Mark, Since I started breathing them chemicals ( old oil, brake cleaner, fuel, mix of them all....) I am non stop with headaches. There are moments I don't remember what I am about to do, because when I bend over to pickup a tool the headache is crushing my scull... do you really want me to remember what key it is!?!? Vin encoded, plug and play ;)
But not Remote Control Enabled !

Reading and re-reading and...it sounds like it was NLA with MB, untill it became available with aftermarket suppliers.
A-a-a-nd suddenly it is available again with MB!
What-a-coincidence ah?
Did i mentioned i don't believe in coincidences, that much?
