Hi all,

I'm the proud owner of a 98 SLK 230 Supercharged and love driving it around. I live in Southern California so I get to use the top down many days of the year. I successfully rebuilt the top hydraulic system and having fun with the different projects I do with my car. I hope I can help and get help to others having issues with their baby.

Welcome to the forum. I share your exuberance from the sheer driving fun! I have an '02 SLK 230 with 72,000 miles and it's nearly perfect. I like the ability to move up or won a gear with the tap of the shifter - great for hills & curves. My roof does stick slightly upon opening but a little thump on the roof (passenger side near the connection to the windshield) and it detaches. I searched and followed some suggestions; took the liner off and saw a cable that looks like it can be adjusted. I didn't see the switches but I think I would've had to take more of the car apart. At that point, it seemed to be such a slight thing I decided not to mess with it. So, you rebuilt your top hydraulic system?
