Just in case you have one in the garage.
December 12, 2018
Vehicles Affected: Approximately 5,400 model-year 2019 Mercedes-Benz C300 coupes and cabriolets, E450 coupes and cabriolets, and S450 and S560 sedans; model-year 2019 Mercedes-AMG C43 coupes and cabriolets, E53 coupes and cabriolets, and S63 and S65 sedans; and model-year 2019 Mercedes-Maybach S650 and S560 sedans
The Problem: A correctly fastened seat belt may be inaccurately detected as being unfastened, preventing the seat belt pretensioners from activating in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the seat belt buckles for free.
What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin mailing interim letters to owners Jan. 25; a second letter will be mailed once remedy parts become available. Owners can call the automaker at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
