I have read a lot this morning on theses forums about adding an under / behind seat or footwell subwoofer to a Harmon Kardon, but not for the modern Audio 20.

I now think that the basic sound is actually fine, even at high speeds with the roof down except the low end bass.

I think that is what I missed from my '06 171 SLK350 which had a (reversed facing) 8" woofer in each door and had pretty good bass and I never wished for more.

My SLC 43 AMG does not have this bass and I think the easiest (and cheapest) resolution is to fit a slimline sub.

Katiebear details a nice looking JBL sub here:

but this will need line level input.

I only have access to speaker level outputs from the Audio 20
(hopefully I can still do the same as in this post https://www.slkworld.com/slk-r172-general-discussion/417585-audio-20-rear-connections.html)

Will splicing something like this to the L+R speaker-out connections of the Audio 20 do what I want???

Ah - OK - I think I have answered part of my puzzle - It just seems easier and more reliable to buy an under-seat subwoofer with speaker level inputs.

Kenwood and Alpine and others make them and they are reasonably priced.

They also have auto power on audio signal sensors so that makes things easier.

Getting power to it has been answered in the posts I referenced above.

My remaining question - can I just run this in parallel and splice the audio 20 L+R outputs and run in parallel to a speaker-level sub input without affecting the audio going to the door speakers?

Anyone know which wire colours on a 2019 audio 20?

I think this may do it...

It looks like I can plug the ISO inputs of the under-seat subwoofer into this T- Harness which I interleave at the back of my audio 20. It is specified as fitting SLK up to 2019

It also looks likes the orange and red long wires will give me the power cables that I can run to the Sub.

Ha. Yes, but I'd like someone with wisdom and experience and knowledge (lots of you guys and girls on here) to confirm if what I think I wanted to hear is actually what I need to hear and that this will work!

If it does, I hope this helps someone else too..!
