Everything was working and went for a ride, came back and the radio would not work. The volume button is greyed out. No sound on CD's or phone. HELP!

do a battery reset

disconnect the battery negative cable for a minimum of 30 minutes
reconnect cable
reset clock
synch/reset window travel (in your manual)

i would if op asks

then they can learn to fish by looking in their owner's manual for synch/reset procedure

Tried the battery reboot and that did not work. Maybe it is a fuse blown in the trunk. Not sure how to get to it though.

I would check and make sure that the internal mute button on the head unit is not on. I had an issue with that after the mute button on the remote got hit.

None of the easy fixes worked. Took it reluctantly to my local MB store and it took them 3 hours of diagnostics and they figured out it as a simple interface part that cost $700 and $$700 in labor and for $1400 my sound is back. What ripoff.

$1400???? Oh my!!! Did they tell you why it malfunctioned? Enquiring minds will like to know...
