Can anyone confirm that the front brake discs on my car are part no A1714210112, Brembo part no 09.9254.33 dimensions 340mm x 32mm? It is a 2006 with the 6 pot calipers VIN no WDB1714732F143419. I've seen these by Brembo at a very good price. My discs are getting near the wear limit (30.4mm, limit 30mm) and I'm thinking of replacing them before my summer road trip.

I know and I did!(y)

I was looking for some 3rd party confirmation that they were the correct ones. The site I'm about to buy from lists them as suitable for

MERCEDES-BENZ

  • CLK Convertible (A209) (582 PS, 06.2004 - 03.2010 MY)
But no mention of the SLK55 ???

I thought if the part no starts 171 it was a R171 part. Here's what it states in the product info.

Product info:

Show OEM numbers of the product
MERCEDES-BENZ (1714210012)
MERCEDES-BENZ (1714210112)

They are coming in at £450 for a pair inc delivery which is, as you know, a great price, but only if they are the correct discs! I'll order them tonight if that's deffo the case.

I've got the same car and need to replace my front brake pads/rotors soon..Front left 31.4 mm. Front right 31.8 mm. Pads are at 5 mm......I was just quoted $2841.24! Yikes!!!
$945 for each rotor and 245.25 for each pad + $395 labor. The MB rep said he asked his techs and that was the least expensive rotor price they could find..I've got the P30 sports package so maybe that is a factor?

Fortunately my brakes are still not squeaking/squealing.

Rears are 25.8 mm both rotors and 6 mm both brake pads. That quote was $1360..
Brakes are a touchy thing but would you all have advice to go elsewhere for cheaper if there is such a thing? An independent MB authorized? Or bite the bullet with MB. They ARE good with warranties.
2 years on all work and repairs.

I wish they'd invent brake pads that don't get my rims all black and filthy in short manner.

I have just ordered a pair of these discs for a total of £456.81 GBP inc delivery and insurance from Autodoc GmbH.

To all intents they should be the exact ones for the car. They are coming for Germany and as a little insurance they offer a deal where if you pay £4 extra and they will collect at their expense and return the goods for any reason for 200 days from the date of purchase. Just need to sort out a set of front pads. Any thoughts on EBC Red Stuff? Looking for something a bit less dusty than what is fitted just now. Rear discs and pads were done 1500 miles ago so that should be the big spends done for a while. Ha!

Those are the facelift discs at 345mm x 30mm one piece. The ones I've ordered are floating OEM spec. Although they are the most expensive discs I've ever bought I think they are a bargain! Sob!

Yes, I teach mechanics for a living so have access to ramps and tools etc etc. I'll use my car as an example of a high performance brake system refurb to show the students what is out there. It'll make a difference from the usual Vauxhall/Fiat/VW/Renault sliding caliper solid disc cars in the workshop!

I’m hoping you are right Billy because I’ve just bought the same thing, strange thing is when I placed an order a couple of weeks ago they refused to supply at that price, couple of weeks later and no problem.

My discs and pads arrived last week. I've attached a pic of the discs, in my opinion 100% genuine. The pads I bought from Amazon and scannned the QR code on the box to check they are Brembo manufactured. That came up confirming they are genuine Brembo.

Hi Billy, they look great, may i ask few question?? as i also have a 2006 55s with 6pots floated disc as oem,n soon need a front disc!!!
1. may i have the part no.for both Disc n pads please?
2. Are they sided? groove/drilled opposite pattern for left n right side?
As i look tho ebay n local motor factors, they all listed for 345x30mm which i believe is not for my car!!!

However i m not much my oem discs as they are same (non sided disc)pattern, Hence wrong vane direction on Right (uk driver) side both front n Rear Discs, with that price tag!!!! :D

Regards Dani

Part numbers are in the attached PDF. Both discs have the same part number so I suppose the grooves and drillings will be the same too, ie not sided. They are in the garage and I've not looked at them sitting together but with the same part no, I'd be surprised if they differ.

345x30 are not for your car, it'll be the same as mine ie 340x32. As you can see on the disc boxes on the text around the X1 logo, they are only to be supplied in pairs.

Looks like auto doc have corrected their price, as last week, their price was around £260, after 20% off, today its £446 with 21% off per disc for the floating die 340mm, dam, looks like i missed the opportunity, back to the modified 1 piece ML discs I am working on.
