So, I already have an issue. My hardtop will not raise up! Raised down and then back up fine when I test drove it a couple of days ago and then fine again yesterday when I picked it up. BUT, last night we could not get it to raise. While pushing the button, there's nothing. Not a sound. Of course, the previous owner will take care of this matter for us, but wondering what slew of issues could cause this. Something simple I hope! On the bright side, it's stuck in the down position!:grin:

Yes, I'm holding the button continuously, no message, not moving and I hear no beeping. Not a sound.

Couple of silly questions first , but as a newbie , you never know , no offense intended :

You are trying to raise the roof with the engine running , right ?

You are pushing the button forwards ?

Try a battery reset ( remove negative during 30mins) just in case .

Once you get the roof up , grease all the articulations of the roof mechanism ...

disconnect battery for a minimum of 30 mins
reconnect and reset clock and synch windows
try roof

also check how old the battery is, if original, it is time for a new one possibly

Well, you push the button up to raise and the button down to lower it. So tell me, R170 or R171? Haha

no. her roof is closed. if she wanted to open it, she would push it rearward

if open, and she wanted to close it, then forward

that is why 2 arrows. depends on whether roof is open or closed when you start
