My electric locks are not functioning properly and I cannot get into my trunk. Is there a way to open the trunk without using the electric locks? Like a release trick or anything?

If I'm not mistaken, you can use your key. Look above the license plate.

The key will open the trunk. On the 2001 SLK The lock is just to the left of the latch handle between it and the lic plate light. Get down low and look up to see it.

Thank you so very much. I just went and looked and sure enough it was there. I cannot believe I never knew it was there after all of these years. Thank you again
