Howdy all. Just acquired this lovely 2000 SLK 230 Limited Edition yesterday. I purchased this wholesale so I do not have a lot of information on it's prior life aside from AutoCheck records (which indicate it lived the past 15 years in Maryland with no other incidents reported aside from routine registrations and titling events). Approximately 73,000 miles on the clock and overall, the exterior and interior are in good shape.

Scheduled an appointment with Mercedes Benz for tomorrow to have a "Pre-Purchase" inspection completed (anyone with any input on these?). If everything checks out, I'll be hanging onto this one for a while. In the event there's any expensive work required, I have a 5-day return period, which I'm hoping I don't need to utilize as I really am enjoying this car so far.

Appreciate the warm welcome. Fortunately, nothing of significance was really detected as part of the Mercedes inspection completed yesterday. A couple items of note:

1. Small seep from power steering reservoir
2. Surface rust on some suspension components
3. Transmission and Flywheel inspection covers missing (Anyone have any idea where I might find replacements? I searched Google for these yesterday, but did not come up with anything)
4. Small oil seep between engine and transmission (noted as typical for age of the car)
5. Rear differential seeping at housing and seals

Overall, I'm pleased with the lack of any major issues detected. I'll have to research some of these items further to establish how quickly I need to address them. In the interim, I'm going to spend some time detailing the car as best I can. Does anyone have any recommendations for good product? In the past, I've used Meguiars Gold Class products (clay bar, wash, paint cleaner/polish, wax), which have been pretty effective.
