1998 SLK 230 w/ 84k miles. CEL came on w/TC p0410. Changed out the AIR Check Valve w/Genuine MB Part and cleared CEL. Within 50 miles the CEL came back w/TC P0422. Have cleared 3 times and comes back. Could it be an O2 sensor rather than the main cat?......How do you check O2's ????? Thanks in advancehttp://www.benzworld.org/forums/#

p0410 is the MAF isn't it?

Search how to clean your MAF. It's easy. Buy MAF cleaner at auto store and take it off and spray it clean.

If that does not clear the code then you may have to buy a new MAF.

Cleaning did not work for me...I had to buy a new MAF and if I remember right it was about $120 from online store. Dealer is LOTS more.

I'll check my records and try and locate where I got mine.

thanks, but the question is re: the P0422 code.....main cat bank 1 below threshold. I fixed the P0410 by replacing the A.I.R. (Air Injector Reactor) check valve, that provides air to the Cats during cold starts, to warm them up. On the P0422, have heard that it COULD be the O2 sensors, not the Main Cat....any suggestions?
