11 SLKs participated in the Autumn Colors Drive enjoying beautiful scenery commencing in wet Redmond, just east of Seattle. We toured the colorful countryside, tops up, on our way up Stevens Pass in the Cascade Mountains. Just over the pass in the Bavarian town of Leavenworth it was dry and that's the way it was the rest of the weekend!

In keeping with our western themed weekend, including cowboy/girl attire, we lunched, cowboy style, at the Hitching Post Tavern. We sipped a few brews, played a little pool and then off we went to the mighty Columbia River to stop at Wells Dam for a photo op.

On we proceeded to highway 20, the beautiful and scenic North Cascades Highway running east and west, this time doing it in reverse. We enjoyed many off-the-beaten-path scenic roads before checking into our lodging at the Hotel Rio Vista in downtown Winthrop, a town known for its western flair.

Dinner was at Burnt Finger BBQ with a singing cowboy and lots of BBQ. The beautiful star studded evening finished up downtown in a western bar, billiard style.

Sunday the sky was blue and we spent the morning strolling the boardwalk and enjoying the shops in this charming western town. By noon we saddled up and headed west where we drove across Diablo Dam and enjoyed the fall colors. We dined on buffalo burgers for lunch at Buffalo Run in Marblemount. Before parting ways, some heading north some south, we made a stop at Cascadian Pumpkin farm for some punkin ice cream.

Another exSLKent weekend! Beautiful autumn colors, fun times and a fabulous way to end the year with our last weekend trip until 2010!
