9 SLKs met in a cloudy Seattle suburb early Saturday morning to take off for points south and east. First stop, Black Diamond Bakery for their famous cinnamon rolls, pastries and, of course, Seattleites must have their lattes... Our 10th SLK, driving down from just south of the Canadian border, caught up with us there in time to head south via back roads to Mt Rainier. A few scenic photo ops later we shot east over Chinook Pass to Naches where we turned south and followed the winding road to the small, historic town of Tieton, in dry sunny eastern Washington.

Lunch was at an old time diner in Tieton where 86 year old Vickie served us her famous burgers, fries and milkshakes at Vickie’s Tieton Café. Next we enjoyed a tour, viewing of the custom book binding shop, art and appreciation of how Tieton is reviving itself through new ventures.

Off to enjoy the winding little-used, two-lane roads into Prosser where we sipped and tasted at Desert Wind winery took a couple photos of cars and gals and then stopped in at Airfield Winery. Airfield wine is the only wine they sell at Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage Collection in Everett which we’ll be visiting later this summer. Next stop is our Horse Heaven Hills lodging nearby. Check in, clean up and we were off again to Picazo 7 Seventeen Wine Bar and Café.

We started our Sunday with a memorable fun run through the Horse Heaven Hills to the Columbia-Crest Winery, perched on a bluff above the mighty Columbia River. A run along the Columbia, back to the winery and we got to duplicate and improve our fun run back to Prosser. Next winery of the day was Pontin Del Roza and then off to Mexican lunch back in Prosser. We took in Vine Heart winery, more photo ops, Chukar Cherries (a must stop in wine country) and returned to western Washington via Mt Rainier once again...

Another perfect weekend of SLK adventures, driving, tasting, dining, laughter, good times and irreplaceable memories…!

Seeing all those SLK's gets me excited to see if we can set a record for SLK's caravaning into Vegas!
We'll be doing our part on the west coast for sure! :)

I can't tell you how exhilarating it is to lead a long line of beautiful SLKs.
We've had such fun just observing others observing us!
We've had people clap, take photos and cheer us as we caravan by...

Once in Canada we pulled into a scenic overlook and parked one by one side by side like it was choreographed. Unbeknownst to us, there was a bus load of tourists (German, no less) who observed us and wanted to know if we were filming a Mercedes-Benz commercial... ;)
