Nearly bought a mini once. It had an engine bored out to 1340cc, Weber 28/36 carb, quick road cam, dry suspension, negative camber kit and straight cut gearbox. Very quick little car, but couldn't quite make the deal at the time....

I know someone that would do an ice restore job on this fossil.... Ah well...

I worked for a BMC dealer in Solihull when they bought out the Cooper S. One of the salesmen who went on to be Johnnie Walker the DJ black lined one down the full length of the hanger they were stored in. The boss was the only one not impressed :)

My mother had a mini like that when I was 16. She took it in for a service, it was put up on ramps, poked by the mechanic and the entire floor fell out. It was an absolute heap of sh.......te.

The desire to restore a car never got to me, repair yes but even that is limited to simple stuff now. Not like the good old days before complex electronics and computerised stuff
