We're off for a 5 day trip to France, down to Epernay to look round the champagne region, enjoy the produce and the views. Top down for most of it I hope.
Also will be celebrating my birthday and 10 years since I first meeting my (now) wife so looking forward to a good time.
The weather looks good, the cars checked and ready to go... time to sample some produce and get into the French way of life before an early start tomorrow!
Don't forget your flourescent jacket, spare bulbs and breathalizer - and emissions sticker if you're going near Paris - and watch out for the bubbly stuff - it's lethal!
I got all of those thanks to reading the post for a Euro trip next year. I didn't realise each person needed a jacket so got another one last week. Not going into Paris (unless I get very lost) and so don't need the sticker.
Once we get there, we're being driven for the first 2 days of tastings and then I'm driving for the rest so will stay dry until I get home.
We think we can get 6 bottles behind each seat and a fair few more in the boot... along with 2 flight bags, that's one reason I like the SLK
2 flight bags in the boot and room to spare, can still get the top down and the suns out, on our way.
Went through Richmond park with the dear watching as we passed.
End of a day full of sun and champagne, life is good.
Yes, that sign says there are 20000+, correction - 80000+!!!, bottles in that one cellar and they have 28km of them!!!
Went to a smaller independent grower and he owned this lovely convertible.
