Leaving Killin, we headed for Lochgoilhead and our lunch. The route taking us past Loch Lomond and through Glen Croe to wonderfully named "Rest and be thankful" where we take the single track to our destination. This is a fun road to drive and scenic too (despite the rain), and I enjoyed watching the run so much I couldn't bring myself to cut it, so I hope you enjoy the ride as much as Col and I did on the day.

After lunch in the hotel, we were on our way again. Passing Loch Fyne Ales micro brewery, and The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, and within 15 miles of my clan's ancestral home, all of which, if you are ever in the area, I'd thoroughly recommend visiting. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit any of these attractions, and we pushed on past them and towards Inveraray. This extremely busy wee town is a tourist magnet and we were lucky to find psrking space to regroup before continuing on our way.

From Tyndrum we took the A82 to Crianlarich, then the A85 to Lix Toll where we turned left and headed into Killin again. The clips in this video are taken from the next leg of our jaunt, up over Ben Lawers and into Glen Lyon, and the run to Fortingall to view the 3000 year old Yew tree.

Luckily I managed to refrain from vocalising my opinion of the taxi driver we got stuck behind on the latter part of the video, so I could include the footage.

For those of you that would like to see more of the run, I have put up the run over the Ben Lawers road uncut and without captions to distract you. This video shows more of the scenery and gives a much more realistic feel to the run. I love driving this road.

Tuesday morning, and the last day of our tour.

We met up in the Pitlochry Theatre car park before saying goodbye to the town and heading off south towards Drymen, where we'd planned a final lunch together. This video is clips from the first leg of that journey, from Pitlochry to the Broch Cafe in Strathyre where we pulled in for refreshments.

Seems to be a compulsory road on Scottish tours.
Only just been back through there.
Managed to stop at the dam this time though.

Finally got some time to put together Part 2 of our final day together.

I moved the camera from its normal mounting on the interior of the windscreen to a mounting on the bonnet just above the star, for a different perspective, and attached another to the rear of the car just above the exhausts to catch their note and some rear facing footage.

I would have liked to be able to put the rear facing footage in a wee window in the video and have it run in sync with the main view, but the software I use is pretty basic and won't allow that. Instead I have had to cut the two together after overdubbing the rear camera soundtrack to them. Not ideal, but the best I could come up with in the time I could allot to it, I'm afraid. I thoroughly recommend watching on a big screen with a chilled beer, or dram, to hand (my coffee went cold as I forgot to drink it, I was that engrossed ).

So here you are ….. No captions, just Mabel's exhaust note and a run along another of my favourite Scottish roads.

Excellent run. Almost deja vu :cough: :cough:
Much better in daylight and no buses.

The van shows exactly why you should not go wide to stop overtakes at 16:30.
By blocking, he then nearly causes a head on.
Clearly scared himself, as he soon gets out of the way afterwards.

Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed having you follow me Col!

In fairness @Avel Du I think the van driver was just taking a wide line to keep his speed up rather than blocking and the biker was cutting the corner. I think they both got a wee fright.

All good things must come to an end. So here is the last video from our Scottish tour. On the bright side … no more sitting about waiting on footage to upload into the software, or while the edited bit "saves".

In all honesty I've really enjoyed putting these videos together as it gave me the chance to relive the tour again , and spot things I missed at the time

I'd like to thank everyone who came on the tour for your company and craic over the 5 days we were together, it was a pleasure sharing the road , and a few drams , with you all.

I'd also like to thank everyone who took the time to like or comment on the videos in this thread. Your feedback is appreciated.

I hope that the videos have given the people who've never been to Scotland a wee taste of what they're missing, and maybe encourage those that can to make the effort and come and tour this beautiful country.

The final run before lunch and the parting of the ways ......

Cheers for your efforts Davie.
You summed it up nicely.

Great scenery,
Cracking roads,
And a good laugh with a bunch of mates.

Doesn't matter whether you have just met for the first time, or shared many tours previous.
It is always a good craic.

I'd also say, do not be afraid to do a tour on your own.
There are many threads on Scottish tours to whet your appetite.
I know Davie always tries to mark our turning points in the vids.

I think the days of the 30+ car tour are limited.

But never, say never.
