Just had email to notify as above. Not sure about other versions. Doubtless others will have had similar emails today.

Not had an email but just looked at the update and it suggests the update has added a function to automatically disable ECO! Lots of people will be happy about that I guess!

Col this is when I wish I had installed the USB cable so I could program in any updates. I don't really fancy chancing my arm a second time round to not breaking anything when gaining access to the SmartTop Module. I guess I will just have to keep pressing the ECO button to disable it.

I did leave my cable attached and stowed it in the bulkhead pouch between the seats.

Also the switch is now reversible!
I always found it strange that I need to push the switch the opposite way from where the top goes (other it makes sense if you look the other way around it (push down = top down).

Not sure what the Valet mode is, anybody knows?

Hopefully, by disabling ECO, I can still enable it from the button, whenever I want, wouldn't want having a function that is not working

This is the change log btw:
2018-12-04 New menu structure. Switch reversible, Valet mode, Alternating Hazards, ECO disable - v2.00

I'm keeping the car in the garage (far from me), so can't really test these things out, right now, looking forward for more opinions!

Don't have it but isn't it to temporarily disable operations when getting serviced so it's not accidentally operated?

I think you were able to completely disable the device, prior to the update, as well, so the dealer won't notice it's there, and start blaming it for unrelated malfunctions, correct me if I'm wrong?

You are right: as per the documentation:

Function 2 - Console Switch One-Touch ( 0=OFF / 1=ON / 2=VALET )
Setting 1 enables One-Touch operation and comfort close for all windows.
Setting 2 disables opening of the top (Valet Mode), even from the remote!

Agree with you about the switch. I suppose if you are using it daily it would be second nature but for us in rainy climes it can be a bit counter intuitive, up is down, down is up.
Anyway hope to update it in the morning and have a play around.

As per the full operation instruction here: mods4cars product manual
"Valet Mode" completely Disables the top, even from the remote!

Wonder if We could get a group buy price on the 267 from the official UK distributor PPCGB :
SmartTop Roof Remote Control Module R172 (STHFMZ2) | PPCGB

(Though this is still cheaper than the CKS price @ 348...!!)

As Trev5 confirms, also confirmed from Sven from Mods4cars:

Hi Jeff,

Happy New Year!

Setting 2 disables opening of the top (Valet Mode), even from the remote!

Best Regards, Sven Tornow

Update complete, went without a problem. I do like the alternating hazards, and the memory mode for the eco-mode is brilliant.

Is the ECO on/off only affecting the start/stop or also the 4/8 cylinder deactivation in the 8 cylinder cars?

Hmmm.

Just been down to the toy box and installed the update. All good on the install but hugely disappointed ...... eco disable doesn't appear to work on my 2014 55 AMG.

If mods4cars are tuned in ....... how about the same function for C/S/M mode. Set start in last mode or start in M or S mode.

+1 for retaining the transmissions last setting. Mr. Banks should give mods4car a call, since they know him so well hes on their speed dial.

According to M4C remembering and setting the gearbox mode is not so simple as the switch used is not on the can bus but is a normally wired one!

But the exhaust flaps now that's a possibility ...........

I always think about the switch moving in the direction the roof moves...intuitive for me

Just updated mine, nice and simple. Its wonderful to not have to disable stop/start every day now, but I can easily put it on for any long trips to take advantage of four cylinder mode.
I had a quick check of windows and roof functions and all seems to be OK. I may set the alternating hazard flashers later.

Mine is now set at 1104110001000104

Great update!
