Bad earthing may be the issue.

All earths I can see look good, no corrosion and tight.

I did some testing over the weekend but not really conclusive. Tried measuring the voltage over the fuses but wasn't getting consistent results and none seemed to add up to the 150mA I'd seen as a drain so wired up the ammeter again and found that the drain was only 30mA but this changes over time, up and down.
I clamped down the door switches and triped the door and boot latches then locked the car and left it for a while for all to go to sleep, after this it could show anywhere between 30 & 150mA.
One strange (to me) thing was that if I pulled the boot handle (car still locked) the drain would go to about 1.5A then step progressively down over the next minute or so to the previous level.
For that kind of draw I'd expect something to be shining, making a noise or getting hot but nothing evident was causing the draw. Possibly alarm circuit but did not go off. Nothing simlar happens if I pull the door handles.

Seems to indicate an alarm circuit/motion sensor, not that I know anything.

Gentlemen, anybody have an idea which circuits might show this behaviour?

One last thought.
The wiring loom passes down the hinge of boot hinges.
Sometimes cables get frayed and throw up electrical issues.

Couple of threads that may interest

Several threads on various fixes folk made for this issue.
Probably, splicing is the 'easiest'.

Had a similar problem on an cl600. In the end it was the alternator. Disconnect the + from alternator and see. It might be or not your problem.
