I am pretty positive it does, but it may come back again. It cannot code them out so they will not reappear.

Well it says it clears the SRS codes but in my case it simply doesn't. I replaced my steering wheel yestarday and since then I have the SRS warning both as a light and it says to take it to the shop (1 malfunction). I made sure I reconnected all the connectors properly on the airbag module but nothing helps. Carly for MB sees error in all items in SRS section but when I choose clear nothing happens. I am positive that the wires are ok and the connectors as well - triple checked. My only alternative is to take it to someone with a software better than Carly to fix this.

Did you disconnect the battery before replacing the steering wheel? I didn't Anyway, I have checked and rechecked and all 3 connectors are properly seated. Also checked and rechecked the wires for any damage - nothing. All the buttons on the wheel do work. The thing is that the SRS light doesn't even flicker when Carly is "clearing aribag faults".

No, I never disconnect the battery.
Did you took the car for a drive?
Seat in passager seat, with the seat belt for a few seconds door closed.

If the error is active then you need to fix it before been able to reset.

The connectors have shorting bars that must be fully snapped shut else they will show a short - which will generate a code.

Yes, I drove it for about 40 km and I also had someone sitting in the passenger seat with the seatbelt on. I checked the connectors again and they are sealed shut. Based on the info I got so far I am hoping that an original Mercedes scanner will be able to clear the codes. All I have is Carly for MB which reportedly doesn't clear Airbag errors. I will try the original scanner later today.

Thanks.

You might damage the steering angle sensor.

Using the original Mercedes scanner did it! SRS light and dash warning went away. So Carly really can't clear airbag faults. The guy told me that he got a lot of people with this specific issue (replacing steering wheel and SRS coming on). Eitherway to avoid this I really recommend disconnecting the battery. It is not a certain thing that SRS light and dash warning will appear when changing the steering wheel but why go through the trouble when you can disconnect the battery. For example, a friend of mine changed his steering wheel just one day prior without disconnecting the battery and he had no warning lights.

Anyway... I tried Carly, went pro and even bought their adapter. It can connect with some ECUs on my car 2005 55 but certainly not the engine ECU. They say that it works for most 2005 cars onwards and before they refunded me, Carly promised they were working on it. That was 3 years ago and I heard nothing since. Torque pro at least reads some engine ECUs and gives live info. It gets busy checking fault codes but always comes back with no faults found. Torque Pro pic attached
