Hopefully they didn't change the sport package bumper because that front bumper is just plain ugly (in my opinion)

Yes, I agree with Pakko it looks similar to the Peicha valance however I find it to be marginally subtle.

My guess the AMG sportspackage with a white or silver exterior colour with the full red interior will look drop dead gorgeous.

I am thankful that Mercedes-Benz hasnt changed that much with the Car,so previous members assumptions were quiet spot on minor subtle changes which were the same routine on the R170.

Good estimates, Will the car become slightly more expensive or will it still have the 05 entry price?

did you mean to say '2009' instead of '2008'?

The calender year is the normal year January-December and then the model year dictates when changes are made to the car.

For instance the 2006 MY started in June and the Bluetooth feature was removed, so even if you have 2 2006 calender year cars the specifications could be different.

I'm not sure what the cut off date is I'd need to check when the factory changes MY's because the factory will be building 2009 cars and selling them in 2008 because the model years are always ahead of the calender years.

The same applies in the EU but we use calender years to measure age so we kinda forget about MY's.

It seems that the car companies decide when to change to the next model year. Ocassionally, in the US, we even have have half model years, eg 200X.5. It does get confusing! Doesn't appear to be a specific cut off date.

I still like the oval tail pipes over the trapezoid tail pipes. The rear diffuser looks good.

From another forum:

Hello, new's facelift for SLK55 AMG on Mercedes-AMG on "Model"
Bye
I think the headlights would especially look good on a white or silver car. The front spoiler is interesting...not good or bad. It does seem a tad higher probably to reduce scraping. The 55 has the same rear diffuser. Interesting that it didn't get updated while the 350 (w/AMG) did. Here's my opinion.

Pro:
Command Update
Diffuser on 350
Headlights
Instrument Cluster
Racetimer

Con:
Smaller 55 brakes

Neutral:
Front Spoiler
Mirrors
Window buttons
Steering wheel

Lastly, did they eliminate the gap between the hood and the front bumper? Looks like they did.

Look's So-So.

I like the combi and the headlamps.

I'm neutral about the steering wheel and bumper, I'm not sure if that pic is of the COMAND or not but whatever it is I'm not overly impressed.

Hate the brakes obviously.

I need to replace my combi anyways so if i order one of those and then fit it in i will report back on how well it works, i will look into an install of the COMAND headunit once i get my filthy little hand's on the wiring diagrams.

And as always i will post PN#'s when i can.

Hmm I think I prefer the AMG facelift to the other models, not sure on the new front bumper.
I'm with you... but it was a smart move on their part. I'm sure people have complained about scraping. In fact, the dealership actually scraped my car once and repainted the spoiler. This new one seems to fix the problem. The center area is no longer the lowest point of the spoiler. By raising it about 2", I think it's almost a non-issue now.

I am partial, I really like the 04-08 front because of the more aggressive side vents, much cleaner front end. The new 08 is a fresh look to the pre face-lift however those chunk sidde mirrors remind of those on the new W204 C-class and the 98-01 ML W163.

Here is why,
