slk350 alternator removal

I need to get the bearings replaced in my slk350 alternator as the bearing are very noise

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I tried to remove my slk350 alternator but could not get it out from under the engine.

I removed the undertrays, disconected the wiring from the alternator, removed the the 4 bolts that bolt the alternator to the engine, but there was not anough space to "slide" it out.

Do I have to remove the radiator/fan/etc to get the alternator out, or is there an easier way, I'm hoping some one has do this job before and can let me know the way to do it.

thanks in advance

I was wonding if I undid the bottom/underside engine mounting bolts and jacked the engine up a bit, if that would give me enough clearance to get the alternator out.......does anyone know if this will work? are the underside engine mounting bolts easy to get at/undo?
