Why would you need this shark fin on your boot in the 1st place? I thought all SLKs come standard with GPS antenna mounted in the middle of the trunk?!
I can't help with connectors... Don't know too much about electric engineering. May be others will jump in?!

His profile says 2001 SLK230 which to me means it's post- facelift. But yes, there might be some differences by countries. I remember I've seen one that didn't have a radio whip or shorty antenna on the rear fender. I think it used that GPS mount for radio too. Not sure though but that was my thought.

Maybe you'll find something useful here:

I think they have a good choice! Do you see the connector you need?
Or the Crutchfield has a good selection too:

Or SonicElectornix is also a good source:

I think I would like one of these for just the look. I think they are good looking better the the little box that's on there now and it has no function. I thought it was for the car phone they use to have.

I remembered I stumbled upon a thread a few years back a detailed write up of the improvements in the r170 slk. The thread explains the TELE AID service available in the US where the use of the GPS is to track down the car if stolen. The antenna in the middle of the boot might be the GPS tracker in the car.
