Intermittent Rough Running Engine

I need help. My 2000 SLK 230 isn't firing on all cylinders. According to the ODB II, it is occassionally missing on cylinder 1 and 4. When I start the car, it shacks from not firing on all cylinders. If I turn the key off, then back on (and let the fuel pump charge the system) is usually runs smooth. Sometimes, I have to do several starts to get the engine to run smooth. I think I have either a fuel pressure problem or a fuel cap needing replaced.

Please help! What can I try to resolve the problem.

Thanks

Pat

Does your scanner show any codes for the fuel pump? It might be faulty and thus not sending the fuel under the required pressure.

Hey,

I get P0130 (O2 sensor), P0135 (sensor heater circuit, 0301 (misfire #1), P0304 (misfire #4), P0300 (multiple misfires) .

I just installed new Bosch O2Sensors.

It misfired on the way to work but ran great at lunch and on the way home.

What do you think?
