Will SRS light come on with passenger seat removed?

The seat is coming out for repair for a couple of days and I understand that the warning light can only be reset by dealer standard diagnostics. So I'd like to avoid that if at all possible but still use the car. Will removing the seat trigger the warning light? This is a '97 which has a separate passenger SRS on/off switch.

I would suggest that anyone with the right kit can reset, not just a dealer.

As for SRS warning if seat is removed, I'd expect that you need to either isolate or complete the circuit.

Well according to the @1=Decotherm thread currently running, the Autel will clear SRS codes. My comments were based on an old thread after search. Disconnecting the battery is indeed the obvious solution, but I would like to use the car. Hey ho, try it and see what happens I guess.
