Roof jammed and won’t close

Slk230 2001.... The roof is out of alignment, so will not close properly at this point... the roof is to far forward so the 2 black positioning pegs are over windshield... and it wont push back

We manually disengaged the roof/ windshield interlock and the trunk lid has been pivoted back... but the mechanisms on both sides where the lift cylinder are positioned seemed locked in place... so the back window will not move and when we push at back of roof from inside of car as you shown in videos online there is no movement..

This has worked before and we manually opened the roof a number of times.. but now seems there is some form of mechanism or non hydraulic interlock in place

Any tips on what to check so we can push roof/ back window out? Is there any latches or ways to manually disengage that mechanism?we have released the pump hydraulic pressure by turning the 6mm head screw - so not due to pressure in hydraulic system

Trying to show son that working on car is good... vs. just going to dealer and pay money

From Craige:

When I bought the car the height and side to side seemed a bit out and I had a few leaks coming in . I removed the sun visors and the roof covers next to the windscreen . I could see someone had been playing around before me because the latches were packed out with washers as spacers , but not the same on each side . I experimented removing and adding washers and after marking the original position with a marker pen loosend the retaining bolts and moved the latches sideways slightly to better the side to side fitting . Best thing to do is try bit by bit and make sure ther's no problem with the lining up rod on the roof half by entering bit by bit slowly with the roof button so as not to over do the adjustment and break anything off on the roof .

It sounds like the hinge safeties are locked. Pop the round cover out of the headliner and turn the Allen key fully clockwise, and then give it a good 10-20 ft lbs more at the end, and have your helpers move the roof rearwards while you hold it there.

Unhappy Cylinders replaced but wires snapped

So we had cylinders repaired by top hydraulics... perfect... they are fitted and no leaks..
Tried to operate roof... stops with trunk pivoting back... making progress!!

On investigation the wires have come loose from connector, that clips into the s69/9 micro switch, so basically guess it stops there as signal not activating next step. As a complete novice... any videos to recommend how to add connection on blue wire, as shown on brown?

The small connector is currently sitting in bottom of car frame... will be retrieved when grabber tool arrives from amazon.

My roof light kept flashing when pulled/pushed.

The culprit was the top right vario roof latch microswitch. The black post that goes into the hole there has a switch. The post broke in half and was missing. So, the switch did not engage. I found out it existed by watching the top hydraulics video below.

I pushed a vacuum hose into the hole, engaged the switch, you can hear it click. Then the top moved with the push of the button.
