Trunk rubbing/catching on rear bumper

Bought an '03 SLK320 for my wife about a year ago. It has developed a problem where when opening the top, the bottom edge of the trunk is rubbing/catching on the top of the bumper as it tries to rotate back. The problem seems to be getting worse. In the third picture, you can kind of see where it is rubbing. I don't think the rear bumper is mounted properly, based upon the strip of grey that you can see on the bumper right below the trunk.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue, or can you confirm my opinion that the rear bumper is not hung correctly?

Is there any adjustment to the trunk for the roof opening mechanism that would allow me to get some clearance here?

Cheers for that. I didn't think to search for boot, just trunk.
