manual gearbox removal SLK 200 2003

Hello. I am having difficulty with selecting 1st/2nd gear. I have changed oil to MTL, still no improvement, so I want to remove the gearbox to check any binding on input shaft/clutch plate. Is there a write up on removing the gearbox in detail, and any adjustments to check for in the process. SLK 200 2003. compressor 2 ltr. 4 cyl. Thank you. Patrick.

I had to do a little research to see if it would be easier to pull the engine and trans together but apparently you don't have to on an slk. Here's a really good write up on a crossfire. It's basically the same though it's a six banger so the exhaust would be different. Before you go through all this, is it possible you are low on clutch fluid? Might be worth it to bleed the system and refill. If you think you need to pull the trans, here's the link. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...-04-coupe.html
