Emailing will never work. Not one of them responded. Which means now I have to waste half the day calling, fine, I get it.
However, the glass people just left. I learned some interesting information. The pin hole knicks in the windshield cannot be "fixed" as we would think they could. There is nothing to "drill". So he put some clear resin on them and used the black light to cure them for 5 minutes, then scraped the spot with a razor blade and they were smooth as the rest of the glass. So in this particular case, a $15 DIY kit would have been fine.
Now the other spider crack [that was the size of less than 1/4 an inch] he drilled clear through the glass, then put a mirror on the inside of the windshield, filled it, then black light cured it, scraped it, then put a top sealer on it, cleared it again, scraped it, and knocked on it with his fist to show me it was hard as a rock.
He DID mention that he had to provide a disclaimer. Once they started drilling there was always a possibility that the windshield may crack and need to be replaced.
The repair today cost $70US and is guarenteed for life. If I ever needed a new windshield, and I called them back out, they would apply that $70 I already paid to the cost of a new windshield that totalled $200us. Good to know. The repair was completed in 20 minutes, and they came to me.
Good stuff..onto the next project
