75000 mile service

Hi all,
My 2003 230 is going in for a service tomorrow, it's roundabout 75000 miles, any recommendations on anything specific to check based on your experience?

It's in fairly good condition, looks to have had a front end 'event' at some stage as the front of the driver's wing has been resprayed, so i've asked them to have a little poke around to see if anything looks out of alignment.

Other than that, there's a loose heatshield they're going to fix for me, and whatever else pops up when they do the MOT! (Hopefully nothing!)

Thanks,

Dez

Had my 2003 320 in for a service and MOTlast week at a trusted local independent
She's only done 63,000 and has eight stamps in the book, five being main dealers
When I collected the car the good news was the MOT was once again passed with no advisories, he'd pulled two spark plugs and they looked fine and didn't need changing.
The not so good news was that he told me he would wager Ł500 on the fact that the fuel filter had not been changed since the car rolled out of the factory
Might be worth having yours checked......out of sight out of mind

careful with that heatshield

I had them fix my loose one only for the car to blow a secondary cat. ( no causal nexus, but i though the shield had gone again)
Have you had your tranny fluid done? definitely worth a sniff if you haven't. definitely worth changing if you don't know if it's been done before.

Do you know the maint history of the car? I'd look at the years more than the mileage. If the following have never been done and you're planning on keeping it awhile, I'd do the following:

Trans service
Change rear diff fluid
Change Brake Fluid
Change coolant
Change Super Charger oil.

Some of these are supposedly 'life of car' but it's fairly easy to do this stuff (and not too expensive to hire it out) and will help sustain a 14 year old car.

Thanks for the replies folks, it's got full service history so I checked and last year's service had transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant and fuel filter done so should be good on those, in fact it looks like the fuel filter has been changed twice already (once at about 35000 then last year at 70) and the transmission fluid seems to have been done every few years too.

I'll look into the rear diff fluid and supercharger oil too, cheers!
