2003 SLK230 - Won't start
I am new to the forum, so please excuse any faux pas. We have a 2003 SLK230 with a little over 20k miles. Yesterday, I attempted to put a new CD in the changer and received the 'No Changer' message. Took the magazine out, turned ignition to 'on' then 'off', and reinserted the magazine. All is well with the CD.
This morning, my wife was leaving and the SLK will not start. Not turning over, no click. All dash board indicators activate and the batter is reading 12.85 volts. A search of the internet revealed it could be a K40 issue. I removed the unit from the vehicle and separated it from its case. No indication of bad solder joint, overheating, or anything amiss visually. Verified continuity in all fuses on the unit. It is possible it can still be the root of the problem? I also wonder if the CD issue was somehow related to the starting issue, as it seems to be an electronic/electrical problem
I will be extremely grateful for any suggestions anyone might have.
