Brake switch wiring

On my '99' R170 there are two connectors each with two wires on the foot brake switch.. can anybody tell me what each cable or pair does, and where they are connected to. I have no brake lights on the car but have tested the switch with a multi meter and it looks OK. one pair of cables is 'open circuit' and the other 'closed'. When the switch is pressed the two pairs change from open to closed respectively. Thank you
