Gearbox stuck in parking (OBD II code P0705)

Just before winter sleep autumn 2015 my Little Blue got stuck in parking mode.
Resulting in OBD code P0705, Transmission range sensor malfunction

Lack of energy and time resulted in a looooong sleep for my car.

But finally I have energy and time to start solving this problem.
I have replaced the break pedal switch without positive result.

I think that next step is to replace the gear sifter module.
From my MB dealer a got the part number A1702671124. Price for a new one is about 700$

Hopefully I can find a used one.

Are there anybody that knows if a gear shifter from a SLK 200 year 2000 will fit in my SLK 230 year 2000?
I have found a used one with part number A2105451632 they look very the same but they maybe have different electronics.

Short version, is A2105451632 the same part as A1702671124?
Or are they compatible with each other?

Wee bump to hopefully catch the eye of the R170 mob.

Throwing that code @Tobbe_L, the first thing I would do is check the transmission fluid. If it's dirty or contaminated it could get stuck in park and show this code. When was the last time the fluid was changed ?
If you're unsure then I'd change the oil and filter anyway. Can't do any harm as she's nearly 17 years old now

Thank you

I don't know when it was last replaced. It is om my to do list and was planed as a thing that I would do before the season 2016.

I think now that replacing the transmission fluid is the first thing I will do
