De Badge; to De Badge or leave standard?

Hi all... my 320 came with a rear mounted "AMG" badge which had to go ages ago as my car isn't an AMG model, but I just De Badged my 320's trunk mounted "SLK320" Badge... just as I had done with my previous 230SLK "Kompressor" and its rear badging... I don't think it makes much difference if De Badged or left as Standard... but I like a de badged vehicle... down to personal taste........... but I did think that my 230 looked cleaner without the "Kompressor" call outs.

However If I did have model such as an R170 AMG32..or a later SLK with some provenance such as an AMG package or whatever, I guess it would be wrong to de badge a car like that!!

Nope ..

I prefer the debaged look, and I'm in a 55 .. those that know will know what it is - those that don't will be kept guessing!!!

I debadged my last SLK55 and I am considering doing the same with my current car. I reinstalled the badging before selling it.

To anyone thinking of doing it, I'd say go for it if you have the urge because you won't be sure until you 'scratch the itch' so to speak!

It need not be something to stress over! Should you decide you don't like it just re apply the badges you removed using new trim tape!

I really like the clean look on the rear end! Then again I really like the "V8 AMG" on the front wings of my R172. Go figure!

I have de-badged my SLK as I do like the clean look. It also keeps people not in the know guessing, which I also like.

I have to be honest though, if I had a 55 I think I would keep the badging.

I don't know what that says about me?

I got rid of "SLK55", but kept "///AMG" and the Mercedes star, but replaced both of those with matte-black versions:

"debadged-at-a-distance"

I went ahead and kept all the badges on the 32, I don't think it makes a difference when it comes to fooling people as nobody outside of here really knows they exist. I happened upon an R170 230 at the petrol station awhile back, the owner of it never even heard of a 32. I heard a Corvette guy call it "a funky looking Miata"
