Best attachment for console wood trim?

Wood trim pieces are popping off my console. First the ashtray/coinholder piece came off, then the underlying piece of aluminum, then the cubby trim piece. Looking at the backs of these pieces I don't see even a hint of glue but I assume they must have been glued. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding what to use to glue these back on? Also, what is the purpose of the sandwiched bit of aluminum? Here are some photos showing both the front and back sides of the trim pieces.

If you want a permanent fix something like cyanoacrylate adhesive will do the trick. It's basically industrial grade super glue!
