R171 door panel into the R170

Has anyone tried transplanting a R171 door panel into the R170?

I agree, Jeff.

The 170 door panel is basically vertical; the 171 is curved.

What would be the goal?

Because they are a lot more attractive :-), My are worn at the bottom so need replacing anyway, thought if possible I would have put the R171's on.

I doubt that the internal fit to the door frame (aperture) will be anywhere the same

Two options...

1) get new door(s) for your 170

2) get a 171

Someone's even selling some R170 doors right now:

Would probably be prohibitively expensive to ship them though...

I've got two r171 door panels in perfect condition at a good price , if you want to play around , but again shipping wouldn't be that cheap !!

Not seen inside a 170 but my first though is apart from the basic shape is What about the door handles. The chances they will line up with the 171 door panel I would think is very remote. Be a lot easier and a better job to have a trim shop re do the exsisting ones
