Master key can not operatecentral locking?

Hello guys!

A friend of mine has this weir problem.
He has 3 keys - the master key and one that is exactly the same. They look like this:

And one that looks like a card (but also has 2 buttons and a key). Something like that:

The problem is that with the master key and the valet key ( I guess you call it a "valet key" ) he can not operate the central locking. He is pressing the buttons but nothing happens. But when he presses the buttons on the card-looking spare key, everything works just fine.

Any ideas?

This may sound like a stupid response but.. Are the batteries good?

If you hold down the button for a minute a light should come on at the end of the remote.

The first thing that we tried was replacing all the batteries, but without success...

I'm pretty sure after you replace the battery you have to re program the fob.

True, but if the battery has been dead for a bit then you have to re program it. Its a simple 2 min. job.
