power steering groan

had it for a few weeks, noticed today leaks where the rubber hose goes into the box and into the metal pipes.
My indie topped up the fluid and the noise has gone. He will replace the PS lines next week.Around $3-400 dollars each and 3 hrs labor. Does this sound right?

Why do they have to replace entire PS lines if only rubber hose on top leaks?

Just had a second indy look at it.
Low pressure rubber hose is bleeding VERY little-an easy fis, the other hose is a metal pipe with a rubber hose swaged onto a nipple and is only available from dealer.I am waiting a price for parts and labor.
They tightened up the hose clamps and topped up fluid. Not a huge problem yet.
