A month ago I would have not considered buying a car with a "Rebuilt" title.
But when looking at a 2001 SLK 230 with 36,000 miles on it for approximately half of the book value. I reconsidered.
These cars are more than 12 years old and it doesn't take to much damage to total them. The car I bought had damage to the hood, the right front fender, and the bumper cover. No structural damage, the airbags never deployed.
So I thought about it and came to the conclusion that if and when I sell it it will be a little harder. But I'm not planning on selling it. I'm planning on using it.
The car is flawless except for the seals in the top and a storage compartment that won't unlock. And the fact that I only have one key.
I feel I got an excellent entry level car for a great price.
