Just worked out what my R170 is doing in terms of Miles Per Gallon (To pass a little time) and wondered if this is standard.

1 Litre is 0.264172 Gallons

Average Tank Fill Up : 35
@0.84 per litre this equates to 41.66667Litres

Convert this into gallons and we get 11.00717Gallon

Average tank fill up at around 250miles

MPG = 22.71247

Don't forget, American gallons are different! my R170 does about 23mpg around town and 32 on longer trips. If I drive gingerly and use the W setting I can get around 300 miles out of a tank (using Shell Optimax), otherwise it's between 200 to 250 miles per tank!

That doesn't sound too good. I get 22-23 average (UK) from my SLK55 and up to 28-29 on a long run. I've had 400 miles on a tank before when driving non-stop back from Germany.

I check mine every fill up. I get 21mpg-25mpg depending on how I drive.

I drive 25 miles to work on highway at 80mph 3 days a week and average 22mpg.

I get better when I drive less aggressively.

HMMM wonder why my Highway miles are the same as around town miles for others?
Best milage I have ever gotten has been 25mpg. and that was driving like a grandma for a tank of gas.

That's about what I get, too...well did, before my average speed went from 55 to 85. It's too hard to check anymore. Long story short, I don't fill up anymore, usually 30 to 35 ltrs a shot using gas coupons.

Ummm...around here gas is still under $2.50 a gallon for premium.

We don't start figuring gas mileage until it goes over $3.00/gallon!

The original conversion from liters to gallons is correct.

41.6667 liters =
Gallons: 11.0072
Gallons UK: 9.1654
