Robnobrakes - I had a look at those two on ebay. The red interior makes my eyes bleed, I'm sure it's to some people's taste but it's too much for me. The second looked tempting.
I get what you are saying about the spec and the engine size. TBH, I was aware there were flaws in my logic. I did see the link to your car, looks exceptional (if perhaps a little pricey given the 2 others you've listed). I have to fess up and say I've already put a deposit on 'mine', though I've not agreed a final price yet, so I'll use the lack of spec to try and get the price down significantly. Yeah, I figured they paid 4 - 4.2 px on it, and though Parkers has the car at around 5.7, 5.3 is more realistic given that it is the base model. As for resale values, what's the difference going to be on a 14 year old car with a/c and old leather versus one without, £300 / £400? more? not a great deal. If I can factor some of that into the sale price, it won't hurt so much.
I'm selling the following vehicle so I'm no stranger to the need for more power
I wanted auto, but the g/f wants manual, plus she's a veggie and doesn't like leather in cars. I know, I know, a manual 200 fabric for her, and a 320 leather with nitrous for me. Partly, I'm hoping to resist the urge for more grunt, in the short term at least. If the trike ever sells, then I may have to re-consider.
Pdubq - the one I'm looking at is the Kompressor (is there a model of 200 that isn't?), so what kind of difference are we talking here, really? 7.9 sec 0-60 and 138 top speed versus 7.3 and 142 for the 230, 6.8 and 150 for the 320. 1.1 sec slower 0 - 60 and oh, I'll only be able to exceed the speed limit by a mere 68mph rather than 80; I can live with that. Given that I was looking at buying an MGTF, a 200k with 2 spark plugs missing would be quick in comparison.
